These are normal Paris buses with stops every few hundred yards in Paris itself. Out by CDG Airport these buses take a more express routing. These buses are the cheapest and slowest transfer option.
Arguably the most popular Paris bus transfer option is Roissybus, operating to Opera in the centre of the city. In Paris the terminal is quite prominent on the corner of of Rue Scribe and Rue Auber, immediately to the west of the Opera itself.
At CDG the bus stops at all passenger terminals. Buses run from around 6am to Scheduled journey time is 60 minutes but can be much more with road congestion at peak commuting times. There are a number of Paris public transport passes which in some circumstances may be of interest to visitors to use on the Roissybus.
You can save time by buying your ticket in advance at automatic ticket machines. The RATP website also has an online facility. One goes to the Gare de Lyon railway station, east of the city centre and then goes onto the south side of the city and another major railway station, Montparnasse.
Travel time is nominally 60 to 75 minutes but can be shorter or longer, depending on traffic. Tipping is optional but customary; a few euros should do the trick. When in doubt, round up the fare. Signs in the terminal will guide you to the nearest taxi stand, where you'll need to wait in line for a cab. Shuttle companies offer door-to-door service between Charles de Gaulle Airport and city addresses. Travel is in shared vans or minibuses, so the trip may take longer than going by taxi, although you'll avoid standing in line.
Make shuttle reservations at least 24 hours in advance. Earlier is better at busy times of the year. A reader tells us that PariShuttle see above insists on collecting passengers four hours before flight departure and will not modify its pickup time.

Although the Roissybus service is very popular, it's far from your only choice: there are several airport ground transport options in Paris , some appreciably less expensive. The upside of taking the RER? It's a couple of Euros cheaper than the Roissybus , and takes considerably less time: minutes vs minutes for the bus. Depending on the time of the day, the RER can be overcrowded and unpleasant, and isn't always accommodating for visitors with limited mobility.
There's also the issue of having to lug suitcases and bags up and down metro and RER tunnel stairs, an athletic feat not everyone will appreciate. For travelers on a very tight budget, there are two additional city bus lines that serve CDG airport and offer much less expensive fares.
Bus departs from the Gare de L'est train station every minutes and takes between minutes. Bus leaves from Place de la Nation in Southern Paris Metro: Nation every minutes and takes about the same amount of time.
Both currently cost 6 Euros for a one-way ticket, roughly half the fare for the Roissybus. At 17 Euros for a one way ticket, this is a pricier option, but you get more for your money: reliable free wi-fi, outlets to plug in your phone or other devices, and assistance with your luggage. The comfort and service is on par with a taxi, but this option will likely still be less expensive. The total journey time is about an hour, and tickets can be purchased online in advance.
Traditional taxis are a last option, but can be pricey and take a significant amount of time depending on traffic conditions.
